Best upgrade for your M16.
If you have a transferable or dealer sample M16 lower, you need one of these! The price is definitely high, but this is by far the most fun you can have with your M16. I bought both the 16" and 12.5" barrel with mine. After about a 200 round break-in I thoroughly cleaned and lubed the upper and it has functioned flawlessly ever since, in both belt-fed and magazine configuration. As well as suppressed and unsuppressed. I prefer to run mine with an H2 buffer for a little higher rate of fire.

MCR
Slapped it on a lower, put the buffer spring in and started shooting. A few failure to strip the shell out of the links during the first 100 rounds, the I cleaned and lubed it up and no problems for the past 800 rounds so far. No issues with using the mags at all.

Mcr fight lite great upper
During first use had trouble with it striping rounds from belt even with h3 buffer. I went at and stretched every link a little Now it works flawless. No issues with magazine either! easy to control fun to shoot.

Great product, once you get it to work.
The MCR Auto, formerly known as the Ares Defense SHRIKE, is a great way to get the firepower of a M249 SAW for a great price. It took me about 4 weeks of trial and error to figure out two very important things that you must have to get the MCR to fire from the Belt. Along with the break in of 200-500 rounds, you also need two things: The first is the use of an H3 buffer that weights at least 5.3 ounces. This provides the mass to strip the round out of the M27 link and chamber the round. The Second, is to use the M-27 links provided by Ares Defense/FightLite! I made the mistake of thinking that all M-27 links are created equal and apparently they are not. I bought about 2000 of these things in bulk and thought they would work when don't! I can't see the difference, but what ever it is, it makes the difference from the belt feeding smoothly and the belt jamming rounds in between the bolt and the chamber. The instructions tell you to use a heavy buffer, but not an H3. They also make no mention of using only the M-27 links from the company. Both of these should make your MCR trouble free.
