HOWA M1500 223 REMINGTON 20" HEAVY THREADED BARRELED MINI ACTION


Howa 1500 Barreled Actions are the perfect platform for a quality precision rifle build, at an affordable cost. Every Howa Barreled Action features a hammer forged barrel, bottom metal and precise HACT two stage trigger. The receiver and bolt are forged steel, with the bolt featuring an integral bolt handle. Bolt faces are square to the barrel chamber and bolt faces have excellent contact with the receiver recesses. M16 style extractor ensure positive extraction and function. Factory barrels are hammer forged with headspace set to exacting standards. The HACT two stage trigger has a crisp, light and consistent pull. The included 3 position safety allows for the bolt to be locked, as well as put on safe when unloaded. Scope bases are available from a variety of quality manufacturers.

Great rifles
I’ve bought several Howa barreled actions from here and put them into MDT, KRG or Jtac chassis. The Jtac Elf owl is a perfect fit for a Howa mini action and makes a really sweet rifle with a collapsible stock. Whoever said the Howa mini magazines aren’t available.. I haven’t had the same experience. I’ve bought both the 223 and the 6.5 Grendel/7.62x39 mags from a couple different places. It just takes a little online searching. Overall I love these Howas. The factory barrels are about 1 MOA accurate. I’ve had prefit barrels spun up at McGowen’s and replaced them myself to make an inexpensive highly accurate 1/2 MOA precision rifle.

Love it
Very pleased. Haven’t shot for accuracy yet with good ammo but was shooting about 1.25in groups at 100 yards with some bulk 55gr stuff that I think has 2 different batches mixed together. It’s just cheap ammo I use in my ARs so not the best. Handloads to come. Lots of comments in the mini action reviews about plastic bottom metal. Two options. You can put washers on it that will let you get closer to the torque specs or you can get new bottom metal. I spent a lot of time trying to find it. DPI offers a nice one. Aluminum good machining and finish. It uses the factory magazine (others I found use their proprietary magazines that are around $120 a pc) and magazine catch and it’s also a better magazine fit and eliminates the rattle. $120 It dropped right into a Bell and Carlson stock (used the M40 style. It’s a good stock). I topped it with an Arken ELP 4-16 (really nice scope for the money). This should make a really nice coyote rifle.
