More comp than flash hider
For $20, you could do worse, and this is definitely an upgrade over the A2 in terms of recoil and muzzle rise/flip compensation. Put one on my 16" larue barreled GPR and was disappointed with the flash hiding performance. While it does minimize flash over other comps, it still exhibited a good softball sized fireball while shooting m855 62 gr green tip mil surp ammo, which is what I built the gun to shoot. That said, the comp did in fact reduction felt recoil and muzzle flip, but not as much as stepping up from an H1 to an H2 weighted A5 buffer, and not nearly as much as my 2A Armament T3 (Nemo "builder") compensator, which does a better job at both compensation AND flash hiding.
That said, at nearly 1/3 the cost of said T3 comp, the Pentacomp is an excellent choice for any rifle where flash hiding is a secondary consideration. I put it on my son's lightweight build to help further tame the recoil of the low mass bcg/buffer system and it has done well. Looking forward to trying other ammo types besides m855 to see if the flash mitigation improves or worsens with different grain weights/speeds of ammo.
Would definitely buy again for a budget build.
