First Impression Review
This compensator was a great addition to my competition rifle. It was a breeze to install and I have to say that it is pretty sweet looking aesthetically. Very Impressed with how well the brake performed on my 16" mid-length rifle. Especially, compared to the single barrel brake that I have been running. The two top ports that are set at 45 degrees on both sides really held the sights on target, making it a breeze for quick makeup shots. I am looking forward to putting this brake through its paces this season, to see how it holds up. As well as, seeing how it performs while under the clock. The only thing that I would say could be a nice feature would be the ability for tuning the brake for individual shooter preferences, but for the price it is hard to beat as it stands.
Apollo Break Review
I switched from a flash suppressor to the Ultradyne Apollo break. Definitely a huge step up from what Im used to. Made getting back on targets for follow up shots much easier. Main thing I would change is making the timing of the break easier.
After Action Report
I had a chance to put this brake through it's paces at recent matches. I found that the brake a preformed as exceptionally well. This brake has really suppressed the recoil movement of my rifle. In a well supported position the gun barely moves; if at all. In a unsupported freestyle position the rifle still show some muzzle rise. For that reason I find that for a competitive frame of mind this brake leaves me wanting some tune-able option to mitigate this movement. With tune-able option this brake would be a perfect fit. I also had some more experience shooter on my squad try out the rifle, and the consensus was the same across the board.
I had to return it
I was really excited to put this on and go shoot but when I fired the first shot I actually thought the gun blew up lol I had to send it back because when I fire my gun I get punched in the face with a shockwave/gas. it was extremely unpleasant for me to shoot. It is odd that I dont see any other reviews that talk about that really. I feel like it gave me a headache
