What is the BROWNELLS - BRN AR-15/M16 Oversized Magazine Release Button?
AR-15/M16 OVERSIZED MAGAZINE RELEASE BUTTON

Extended, drop-in replacement for factory part offers a wide, flat finger pad for fast, “can’t miss” magazine changes. Perfect for competition, tactical operations, and self-defense—any high-stress situation where the speed of a magazine change makes the difference between success and failure. Nearly three times the surface area of the factory button with crisp, 24 lpi checkering for positive, nonslip finger contact, so you release the mag on the very first try. Stands .225' higher to give you extra leverage that ensures the mag catch disengages completely. Precision machined from 4140 steel and heat treated for added hardness and wear resistance, with a tough, black oxide finish. May require minor fitting.

  • Material: Steel

Biggest & Tallest Mag Release Button
I'm not quite sure of the validity of some of the other reviewers. I've been buying this mag release button for 3+ years, and it always has had nice big pictures + a video review + highly accurate title and description to show the prospective buyer the dimensions of the product. It's the biggest magazine release I've found. It does not go back (as pictured/shown/described) as far as something like Odin Works, but it's all steel with a really nice finish and has worked in all of my Mil-Spec AR-15's and Aero Precision M5 Lowers. It is tall, as pictured and displayed, and goes back further than say Power Custom's and Magpul's (not by a huge amount, but definitely noticeable). For some folks, and I think some of the genuine reviews, this could definitely not be needed, and a problem with mission/job/task accomplishment. But I still can not wrap my head around why you would write a negative review on a product that is doing exactly, if even better, than advertised. If I was kitted up and running around in a CQB or Tactical situation, I would want to train with it first to see if this could work. For range time, either on the bench or in competition, awesome, no problems, fantastic. I use Norgon's NSN Ambi deal on the port side, but also works well with standard/mil-spec mag releases. This is definitely the biggest, easiest to find and push AR mag release button I've found. Also, it has no attachments, so one less thing to have to Loctite in (as in Magpul's/Odin's). I just ordered 3 more, to add to the ~6 I already have installed. Also, to give you and idea; I have the Luth-AR (original founder/head of D.P.MS. b/f they were bought out by the Remi conglomerate) The Paddle Bolt Catch installed as well, to give you and idea of what my setup's are running. I want/like/need big controls that have lot's of surface area and are really easy to manipulate.

Great button
Even though I live in CA my guns are pre ban and registered so I can legally have them. This mag release works GREAT! I now have them on 3 of my AR's and have had no problems with fit, function, or appearance. Even with my short fingers it is right there for fast mag changes in competition.

BIG improvement over stock part.
This is a very well made part that greatly improves your access to the mag release. It is easy to install, after you remove the bolt catch, a minor inconvenience. Put one on my Colt H-Bar Match and my Rock River Predator Pursuit.

Must Buy!
I have put this on several AR's and will be buying more. Works great.

Best with Norgon
Not meant for receivers with ambidextrous bolt catch. However, when paired with an ambidextrous (e.g., NORGON) magazine release lever, this huge button installs very easy and does not allow opposing lever to rotate when pressed. You'll never make a faster mag swap!
