What is the TEXAS WEAPON SYSTEMS - Yugo M70/72 Short Stop Gen-3 Hand Guard M-Lok?
Description

Designed as part of an integrated system the Gen-3 Hand Guard offers greater levels of functionality, modularity, and durability. The co-planar top rail keeps all accessories such as optics, night vision, or thermal devices properly aligned. For additional functionality the Gen-3 handguard is also M-LOK compatible. The semi-floated hand guard design minimizes barrel disturbance while the ample ventilation holes assure the quickest cooling and minimize weight. Critical AK functionality is retained by allowing the installation of the cleaning rod and bayonet.

  • ONLY Compatible with the M70 & M72 Zastava Rifles.
  • NOT compatible with rifles that have a grenade launcher.

Best handguard out for the m70 zpap
Idk what all these other reviews are talking about cutting all these parts off . Honestly if your gunsmith had a hard time installing this then they may need to find a new gun smith . Yes u do have the cut off the sling hook but THATS ALLL . Thisnhamdguard fit very well . The wedges hold the hanguard in nice and tight this thing isnt going anywhere . Id say its shtf proof . Dont listen to all these other reviews its not hard to install i installed it in 10 minutes and it looks great

Nice Accessory
Very easy to install if you take your time and pay attention to detail. Just like carpentry, measure at least twice before cutting and just file in small increments checking the fit often. You won't be disappointed if you do your part properly.

Not Diy Friendly
This hand guard requires a gunsmith or a lot of time if DIYing to install it. In my perticluar example my gunsmith requires to modify the following parts: Wage block, piston guide tube, Top cover shaving to clear the rear sight block, and remove enough material to clear the path for the piston. A for the looks, quality, and finish of the product. A D for installation.

Seems like a nice handguard....if it fits
I got a new zastava m72 RPK. The description says it fits a yugo m72. The yugo m72 is an RPK. So you would think it would fit? Wrong. Not even close. Plus the instructions included are for an m70 and the m72 has a few different parts But several parts of this handguard will not fit my m72. Maybe if I took about 8 hours of dremel time, it would fit. The part that sits around the rear sight block barrel shroud/clamp is not nearly big enough. There's no place for your lower handguard retaining cap. So you will need to destroy that with the Dremel. You'll need to Dremel off the strap mount. So just don't waste your money on this if you plan on using it on an m72

Don’t Recommend
Some parts have slight rust on them and to install it you have to cut off front sling loop. The wedge system is absolutely ridiculous. Go buy from SLR no modifications to rifle and just drops in.
