What is the MAGPUL - RAIL COVER TYPE 2 M-LOK® POLYMER FOR AR-15?

M-LOK Type 2 Rail Covers are low-profile, two-piece covers that install directly onto most M-LOK aluminum hand guards (non-polymer). This pack of six M-LOK covers is non-orientation specific, which allows the user to mount them in any direction desired without affecting function. Not compatible with MAGPUL MOE M-LOK, MOE SL and SGA forends, and may not be compatible with free-float hand guards that have a wider and flatter profile, as they will not seat deep enough to allow the center portion to lock in.


Featuring beveled contours to minimize potential snagging, our TSP texture for additional grip, and with a protrusion only slightly more than 1/8" from the mounting surface to maintain its low-profile. The center locking tab is pre-scored to allow the user to snap off sections and mix and match colors for a customized look.

Grip is phenomenal
I'd first started with these when I first built one of my rifles. Then I moved to some other rail covers. They were either too bulky or not "grippy" enough. Now, I have them on all my rifles. They are low cost, perfect for what I need, and low profile enough on some of my bigger handguards that I have my suppressors tucked under - which, uphold against the heat from the barrels. Plus, the colors are just right too.

good rail cover if you want some texture
The first thing about these rail covers is THEY HAVE AGGRESSIVE TEXTURE. If you do not like a lot of texture...they are not for you. Think S&W M&P 2.0. Yes, that much texture. It would take a lot of mud and grime to overcome this grip. It might also toughen up those delicate palms you have there. Easy install and seem to be solid.
