COLT - AR-15/M4 Pistol Grip Polymer Black

Genuine Colt A2 grip. Used to make my Colt build 100% Colt. Same heavy duty polymer seen on several Colt Models.

I ordered and received two of these grips. One is marked F1 and the other is marked F4. Both have the light gray tinge to them. There seems to be a lot of speculation and conjecture as to what the F marks and gray color means. Having worked in manufacturing for 40 years and some composites, my best educated guess is the grips came out of different molds. The gray stuff is probably mold release. Until someone comes up with a better answer I think this is it. And being mold release itll probably clean right off with a toothbrush with soap and water or denatured alcohol. I shot service rifle across the course for a few years with a Colt Match H-Bar. Im building a scoped service rifle now and am accustomed to the feel of the Colt grip so got a one for the new rifle and another for a future carbine build.

You can totally feel the difference between this grip and the ones you'll get out of a kit. Took it out of the bag and hit it with a dab of Mother's Back-to-Black restorer and now it just looks awesome.

This is an "F3" marked Colt A2 pistol grip. I was surprised when opening the bag that the material is not black as described. It is instead a medium gray chalky color and is not composed of a hard plastic like many copies. Apparently, Colt has made several variations of this grip and this is the current production variety. I lubed it up with some Ballistol and it appears to be holding a darker color, which more closely matches the rest of my 6920. I would recommend the grip to those looking to replace their Magpul furniture with authentic Colt parts; however, I will probably keep an eye out for an earlier production example at local gun shows, just for cosmetic reasons. The grip functions perfectly and has a better, fatter feel than the shiny, plastic knockoffs.

Very unsatisfied i must say. Ive been stalking the internet for the real colt grip with the grey finish everyone talks about. Constantly been checking brownells website to see if its in stock. As the comments mention it being the grey finish one. So figured my best shot of getting one was from brownells. This is definitely not the grey finish colt grip. Really irritated and sending this plain solid black one back the minute i get a chance. The fact is theres 2 different colt brand a2 style grips. Pretty positive everyone ordering this grip is expecting the grey one. So sorry brownells i do love yall but clarify this on yalls online store. Not all colt a2 grips are the same.
