Many of today's pistol-caliber carbine fans are taking advantage of 9mm, but there's a subset of PCC fans that want a harder-hitting pistol caliber for their carbine. Enter the .45 ACP AR-15 M&P Conversion Adapter from Stern Defense. Designed for use with M&P pistol magazines that accept .45 ACP rounds, the Stern Defense AR-15 Conversion Adapter works with any mil-spec AR-15 lower. Installation takes mere seconds, and the adapter even has a last-round bolt hold-open feature! Each Stern Defense Mag-AD Conversion Adapter is machined from 6061-T6 aluminum and features a 4140 NiB-coated feedramp. The adapter features an ergonomic, easy-to-use magazine release and is compatible with all generations of Smith & Wesson M&P pistol magazines, so long as they accept the .45 ACP cartridge.

My new backpack gun!
As I mentioned in a review for the Stern Def. BCG, This worked flawlessly. .45 ACP AR Build.. Used all Stern conversion parts with the exception of the buffer. There I used a Armaspec 'captured' buffer (SRS9). All the brass landed in the 3-4 O'Clock! 1 mag dump and no even a hiccup.

Stern Defence 45ACP AR15 mag adapter
Have trusted Brownells for many years to provide shooters and gunsmiths with quality products. The Stern Defense mag adapter is a quality product that installs and adjusts easily following their supplied instructions. I would recomend lubricating the bolt hold open mechanism before installing. Mine was a little dry and stiff. Applied a few drops of Kroil oil and it worked as it should. Magazines tested so far are used S&W M&P police trade in mags and all lock in and feed with no problems. Mag well adapter was installed in a standard forged machined lower. I would use the Stern Defense mag well adapter again. Hope this review helps.
