What is the GRE-TAN - REMINGTON 700 FIRING PIN ASSEMBLY, LITE?

Gre-Tan Rifle's GEN II Lite steel Firing Pin Assembly; Matte Black. Featuring the Thread Assembly System that prevents the uncontrolled discharge of the firearm. This thread assembly joins in front of the spring collar. Along with a Radius Tip contour design so you can now dry fire practice and set triggers with our pin. The pin is made with 7075-T6 aluminum shank, and preheat treated 4140 Steel tip.

If you are purchasing a GTR Firing Pin Assembly for a PTG bolt it needs to be fitted by Gre-Tan. Contact Gre-Tan and they will install and fit it for free.

High quality firing pin assembly
Great product, quick shipping, very pleased with Brownells! This pin assembly resolved a misfire condition in a Remington 700 bdl 30-06 from internal spring drag during cold shooting conditions. The fact that the spring coil is slightly narrower than the pin base I believe makes a significant difference over the original design for drag, as well as the improved machining of the pin shoulders etc. Just a well thought out improvement for the assembly..

I've used many of these firing pin assembly on rifle build, 1st thing I do is replace the factory Remingtion firing pin assembly, great product, be sure buy GRE-TAN, top quality

No reflecton on the prodect
This product is very well made and unqusetionably of very high quality. What follows I blame soully on me. The pin assembly I bought (2) was definitely for a Remington bolt, unforunately my gunsmith put a PTG bolt in this rifle rather than getting the Remington bolt fixed. Result was this assembly did not fit into the PTG bolt as did the Reminton pin assembly. The poor rating is more to Brownell's than GRE-TAN. Description should have stated will not fit other brands of bolts. I gave 2 stars because it DOES say Remington.
