Very Good Lightweight Barrel
Purchase this barrel for a lightweight build. The quality of the barrel, gas tube and gas block are apparent upon inspection. The fit of the gas block on the barrel was very tight and precise, the pre-dimpled barrel made assembly easy and confidant. The gas tube installed as usual with a roll pin. The fit unto the Sharps Bros. upper was nice and snug, installation was a breeze. I mounted a red-dot on this build, so shooting tight groups at 100 yards is more about the limitations of my 61 year old eyes than anything else. Shooting some 25 groups with 55 grain match ammo hovered around half and inch, switching to 77 grain PMC Match squeezed down to a third of an inch, which is my limitation for an optic with no magnification. The intermediate gas system made for softer recoil than a similar build with a government profile (heavier) barrel with a mid-length gas system. Very pleased with this barrel and the build.
