EGW - HD Ball Head Disconnector

fit great and now no hammer follow. the original was used so much it wore down and would not reset trigger

This is the 3rd HD Ball Disconnector that I have used from EGW. All have dropped in with no modifications. My hammer would fall to the half-cocked position after I pulled the trigger, held the trigger back, and then racked the slide in RIA GI model that I replaced the sear & hammer in. This disconnector solved that issue and now it functions perfectly. Nothing new to me, all of EGW's 1911 parts are of high quality.

this disconnect does what its suppose to, the click that is heard is not the click that is heard when resetting the trigger that's normal the click that is speaking of is a click wright before pulling the trigger usually happens when the disconnect is warn or to small in dia. and if a shooter first hears it, it's very annoying, like a nat buzzing around your nose while trying to get on target, on some pistols using a standard disconnect you can use a center punch a dimple on the front of the diconnector hole to tighten up or one might have to file or sand the ball head to fit it in so to get a smooth up and down cycle of the disconnector never file the pistol frame to fit

I think EGW is holding back on the information on this part. They still make their standard disconnector which works in most guns. This particular disconnector is especially suited to the Kimber which has used a Chip McCormick ball-headed disconnect from the very first. The Kimber disconnector channel is a bit on the large side compared with many other frames, so this part works best on Kimber style (McCormick) frames. It is really not longer than other disconnectors although it may have a slightly different shape than other types. It is NOT a blanket solution for all guns and there is no problem using EGW's standard part or any other high quality part just because it doesn't use the ball-head concept. It is not usual for any disconnector to drag on the sear pin, although changing to a different style may cure the problem if it crops up. Finally I don't see why so many descriptions claim that their part eliminates the "click". Disconnectors are supposed to click back into the cutout after the trigger is released. If you don't hear anything, then there is a problem.

This disconnector is ready to rock out of the box. I really like EGW parts in general and this one is a must use if upgrading a 1911's firing system. This is now my go to part.
