BROWNELLS - RDA-101 Pro-Spring Kit For Ruger Double Action

I've bought other Wolf/Brownell spring kits and have had great results. This kit however included a main/hammer spring that was lighter but a full 4-5 coils longer than stock in my Security six. Initial install, while simple did not show much (if any) improvement. However, once I cut the main spring to stock length, everything got much better! Still, you shouldn't have to do this on a taylored kit.

This hammer spring was simply not the correct spring for a Ruger Security Six. A prior review mentioned its excessive length. As I received it, this spring left barely enough room for the hammer to even function. I'm sure the quality is excellent, but in a revolver it was intended to fit! Unlike the prior reviewer, I'm not going to cut off a major portion of the spring. Maybe this hammer spring is meant for a Redhawk or GP100 or some other model, but it is definitely NOT for the Security Six, Police Six, or Speed Six! It's probably just a simple packaging error; such things happen in the real world, no big problem. I will keep this long spring for one of those unknown future projects, but when I buy the next one, it really has to be the correct size!
