ADVANTAGE ARMS - Conversion Kit Glock 17/22 Gen 5 22LR (2)15-Round Mag Black

Purchased advantage arms 22lr conversion kit and was extremely impressed by thd ease of assembly and functionality of the product. After 200 rounds straight out the box i realized i had never even lubricated it myself snd still had 0 issues!

What’s the Advantage?

1. Use my own Glock 17 frame and trigger. 
2. Slide is made from aluminum and uses the Glock MOS system allowing me to mount my red dot. 
3. Magazines hold 15 rounds for similar training to 9mm. 
4. Threaded barrel from the factory allowing the use of a suppressor or compensator. 5. Shoot 22LR for cheap. 

Range time:

I’ve shot over 500 rounds so far over 2 range trips. The first time I used my Glock MOS plate and Vortex Venom, using CCI Mini Mags and Aguila Super Extra 40gr ammo it ran good and made 2” groups at 25 yards. Magazines would hang up on the 10th round out of 15, so I would drop the magazine and push the round to get the follower to push the round up. 

Second trip I used the Advantage Arms light weight plate and a holosun 507 to see if the lighter weight combo worked any better than the MOS and got about the same results. I tried CCI standard velocity and it didn’t have quite enough power to function reliably, the kit definitely likes the hotter ammo so stick with what advantage arms recommends on their website. 

Overall thoughts:

I have a Taurus TX22 and Beretta M9 22LR, I like to shoot a lot for cheap and both of those have been about 100% reliable with almost any ammo. The Advantage Arms so far is picky on ammo and has feeding issues that seem to be due to the magazine followers breaking in. It’s accurate enough for a 22LR but isn’t gonna win any matches against a Ruger MK series but apples and oranges. So is it worth it? I still think so, I get to use my exact carry gun as a 1:1 for 1/5th the price of 9mm. Which is why I use a CMMG conversion in my AR15. So hopefully this helps, I couldn’t find many reviews on the internet or videos on YouTube so I figured id bite the bullet and get one of these while they were on sale. Hopefully helps you out in your purchase decision.
