What is the HIVIZ - Front Sight, Red?

Replacement front sights work in conjunction with factory rear sights to give you fast sight acquisition in most light conditions. Machined steel body uses overmolded technology to completely cover and protect the light gathering, polymer LightPipe with an extra layer of clear polymer. Gunsmith fitting recommended. S&W 317/66/67/625/629/657/686/696 - Fits S&W revolvers that accept pinned front sights: models 317, 66, 67, 625, 629, 657, 686 and 696 (except 686SSR, Classic Series and Performance Center guns). Red light rod. SPECS: Steel, black, matte finish. .893' (22.6mm) long.

Works on a Colt Revolver

I couldn't find a similar product made specifically for a Colt Revolver (Trooper MKIII). My distance vision is blurring and I needed the brightness this provides since I shoot lawn steel out to 75 yards. I installed this in place of the front sight blade. The tab was too short for drilling and pinning so I had to superglue it into and around the channel. So far so good.

Not for the S&W 625 JM model

5 star rating because it is a great product, just didn't fit my S&W 625 Jerry Miculek model (you need the SW3001R sight if you have the same revolver as I do) I bought this and returned it to Brownells (they have great customer service) and got the correct sight... Just helping out other research buyers like myself, not to make the same mistake I did. (front sight pin should be bought as well, just incase you bend yours like I did mine)
