What is the HARRISON DESIGN & CONSULTING - RETRO IGNITION SET?

Low-profile, “bite free” hammer spur prevents hammer pinch even when used with the standard 1911A1 grip safety. “Retro” design has the look of a bobbed 1911A1 hammer. Available alone or in a kit with top-quality machined sear and disconnector. All components precision machined from tool steel, heat treated, and polished for optimum fit and durability. Primary and breakaway angles on the sear are prepped and ready to go, but can be gunsmith modified to change trigger pull if desired.

Tool steel machined to +/- .0005" tolerance, heat-treated to Rc 53-56, in the white. Kit includes hammer, sear, disconnnector.

Just what I was looking for

I purchased your kit listed above for my well used Bullseye Wadcutter Gold Cup match gun. The current sear/hammer engagements were starting to chip/wear from a LOT of use. Trigger pull turned out to be right at 4# & smooth. Initially the disconnector was a tad long causing some drag when racking the slide. This was not a issue from your design. My slide/frame had been modified to take all the vertical play out of their fit. I buffed/polished the upper tip of the disconnector that contacts the slide & now she is smooth as glass. Just like the trigger pull. Thanks so much for a great product.

Excellent quality kit

This kit dropped right in to my SA 1911 Defender. I used a Harrison mid length trigger, No adjustment was needed on the trigger stop and only slight stoning for height and polished the bows slightly. The sear/ disconnecter/ hammer kit came in at 3lb. 5 oz. trigger pull avg. 10 pulls. 8/10 pulls were 3 lb. 5 oz. with one pull 1 .oz less and one 1 oz. more than the average, fantastic consistency. Johns parts are highly recommended ! Outstanding!

Dropped into a Remington R1 Mil Spec

Dropped into a Remington R1 milspec without issues; the only "fitting" I had to do was a slight "mil" of the hammer strut pin (pin was a tad too big; set the pin in a drill and used a sandpaper board to reduce pin circumference). All safety checks done; seems to work fine with factory sear.

Outstanding

Great product. Dropped in with no fitting on Colt series 80 gold cup national match. Completely cured hammer bite issue, made this pistol a dream to shoot. SO pleased.

Drop in trigger job

I priced the tools to finish and polish a my own sear/hammer. Since I was only doing a single 1911 I decided to go with the HD&C hammer and sear instead. Had to ream the hammer strut pin hole a little with a jewelers round file to get the pin in. Once installed my Springfield has a very nice clean breaking trigger at about 3.5 lb with no noticeable creep. I'm very happy with this set and will recommend it to friends. The factory installed hammer/ sear set was horrid compared to other 1911's I own. This drop in set resolved it
