Nice upgrade
I have purchased two of these grip frames over the past month to upgrade a couple of my Blackhawks. I wanted to add weight, stability and tame some recoil. I did not expect a direct fit and after a good 6 hours plus on each I did get a good fit. I had no problem with the screw hole alignment but did have to smooth out the cylinder bolt spring hole on both. Not a big deal but at least the hole was there. Overall I am pleased with then end result. A good set of files is necessary along with a lot of patience as there is a lot of fit testing. I ended up finishing the frames with plumbers sandpaper at 120 grit and a final swipe with green scotch brite and I have a nice brushed look. Overall an excellent upgrade. Be advised that the frame is larger overall and the stock grips show it. Not a problem though. I also found that a standard hogue mono grip for the blackhawk will not fit this frame even with some attempted material removal from the grip. i have to say that the time and effort was worth it and a big thanks to Brownells for offering these at a reasonable price.
