Been Using for 20 years, wish they'd update it..or provide a print link
I use the MTM Handloaders Log notebook, incl. the Handloaders Log data sheets & these "2006" Sinclair targets for each rifle. I recommend these target sheets, but good golly they sure could be improved. One big plus for the Sinclair target is that the square measures precisely 1.00 inches, making it a useful reference for the Hornady 4DOF app group size measuring solution - take a picture & the group size tool enables the user to reference the square on the target as a precise 1.00" scale and then generate Mean Radius, Along with other details. It's too bad we can't get the Garmin Xero to integrate with 4DOF and then use the combined data to directly print onto an 8.5 x11 sheet of paper, the target image along with the data incl. a customizable "manual entry" area similar to what is currently printed on the Sinclair Targets. THAT would enhance efficiency & reduce data error & loss. The amount of space on the right side of the target page is limited. And yet the space is used sub-optimally including unnecessary excess space for some items while totally ignoring primer type, neck bushing diameter, brass type, neck wall thickness, turned / not turned, etc. You'd think that over the 20+ years since Sinclair started offering them, someone would update the sheet to function better with modern practices & technology. My comments apply equally to both the MTM handloader log data sheets as well as these Sinclair targets because they share similar shortcomings. I am absolutely baffled that neither have been updated with key missing information or edited to make the layout more space efficient. For example, on the targets there is unnecessarily large amount of space for the combination of bullet name and weight and various velocity metrics and yet zero space for the primer type, neck bushing diameter, details on brass and necks, etc., which seems so incredibly odd to me. Given modern technologies currently available, group size could be updated with Mean Radius, and velocity could be updated with Mean, SD, ES all on one or two lines of data rather than three lines. But at least the space provided on the target for those metrics is sufficient to simply write in the preferred data. It's really the lack of primer, neck bushing, neck, brass entry spots located up near powder type and charge weight that baffles me. Just combine powder name and charge weight in one location, bullet type and weight in another spot, and that leaves a spot for neck bushing and primer. Etc. These are all important details that could easily be included on the target (and on the MTM Handloader log) for better data retention. WRT to the MTM Handloader log sheet - it's EZ enuf to use the general format to create your own sheet in MS Word including the most pertinent metrics, then go to a print shop and borrow their 3 hole punch for the printed sheets. But it is more difficult to replicate the one inch square on the Sinclair targets.
