What is the SUREFIRE - SCOUT LIGHT PRO DUAL FUEL?

Follow A New Trajectory. The Scout Light® Pro Dual Fuel unites the combat-proven elements of the M600DF Scout Light®. SureFire’s new Low-Profile Mount (LPM) delivers unprecedented versatility, allowing the user to optimize the light’s position relative to the rail. Rugged and reliable, the LPM easily and securely attaches to any MIL-STD-1913 or M-LOK rail. The Scout Light Pro Dual Fuel’s recoil-proof, ultra-high-output LED delivers 1,200 lumens of blinding white light with 123A batteries or 1,500 lumens of light with the SF18650B* rechargeable lithium-ion battery, and its Total Internal Reflection (TIR) lens shapes the beam for plenty of reach and ample surround light. It’s ideal for close- to longer-range applications.

Constructed of lightweight aerospace aluminum, Mil-Spec hard-anodized and O-ring sealed to keep out the elements, the Scout light Pro Dual Fuel is a new twist on a legendary WeaponLight system.

Buy a Modlite
As the other reviews say, do not buy this light. Mine is currently with Surefire getting a new head for the second time. They also told me the tailcap I had wasn’t the right part, but it was bought with the light. Apparently there’s a new tailcap that works right but they obviously don’t bother telling anyone that. Surefire is overpriced and rides on what the name used to be. As of 10/15/25, they told me they don’t even have a new head to replace mine. Glad I only have one of these. Buy a modlite.

DO NOT BY if you plan to use remote switches
The N640DF works great with the included clicky tail cap, but it's output is significantly reduced when using a DS-00 or UE tail cap and remote switch. This is a known issue that Surefire has been unable to fix. If you need a floody 1500 lumen dual fuel light and plan to stick with the included Z68 clicky tail cap the light is fine. If you do plan to use remote switches, skip this and buy the Scout Light Turbo M640DFT as it will work with Surefire remote tail caps and switches.

DO NOT BUY
Before you dismiss my review, please do your own research on the KNOWN issues Surefire has had with their duel fuel models. The light simply does not work! There are several reliability issues and Surefire's customer service is plainly said "Awful". They could care less about your issues, take forever to repair/ replace your light. And even sent back the light without repair. Worst company I have ever dealt with, especially given the premium cost they demand for their junk. You would be much better off with a Modlite, Arisaka, Owl, even my budge Olight's have better reliability and customer service than Surefire. If you are dead set on the brand, try their 600 series non DF. ALL of the newer offerings acquired flicker, do not power on, will not run properly when switching from CR123's to 18650's, regularly lower the light output to almost unusable levels, problems with the tail cap not actuating properly etc... A weapons light NEEDS to be reliable at the very least, there is nothing worse than not having a light when you need it most. Imagine having to clear a facility and your light lets you down. Unacceptable
