very finiky
Their .223 model works very well, the 9mm is way more picky. It works okay, but is very touchy about how you run it. Once you get a rhythm down and understand the issues it's not bad, but you definitely don't want to just let your buddy hop on and run it. It's very important you go slower than you can, in that it's important the make sure the lever travels fully up and down with a little pause at each spot, try to go too fast and things go wrong very quickly. The lever placement/size is not great, esp. if you have it on a bench because then ensuring the lever goes fully downward usually results in your hand hitting the table or loader. The big issue I have is the hopper does not feed constantly, rounds get jammed up in the top of the hopper and do not keep the mechanism fed. As a result it's very easy to run out of rounds in the mechanism. If you like to load your mags to a certain round count it's very annoying. I usually load 10 rounds in my mags for the range and I typically get anywhere from 7-10 due to the above issue. As a result you end up constantly nudging rounds around in the hopper so they feed in to try and ensure each lever pull actually has a round to load. It's still faster than a maglula loader, but not much, esp. if you are doing different mags and have to swap out mag inserts. Which are just 3D printed plastic, there's no way they should be $20 a pop. I will say it's impressive how well it works with a insert with the mags I've tried. It's great for loading a bunch of mags before going to the range, but due to its finicy nature I'd never take it to a range, unlike the 223 version.

Avoid at all costs
Jams all the times

Works with severe limits.
Glock 17 mags. Works ok for FMJ ammo. Crap for HP ammo. I tried several different types of hollow points. I did discover that dropping the rounds into the feed hopper opening base first worked very well. Used within its limits it is easier than any of the hand held loaders I have tried.

Works Occasionally...Mostly Frustration
As someone who suffers from repetitive motion injuries, I looked for a magazine loading mechanism that did not rely on hand strength. I purchased the "PRO" version of the Magpump 9mm from a LGS after seeing reviews about the polymer version breaking. The PRO version has metal parts where the regular version has all polymer construction. Unfortunately, this product is not ready for public use. I only loaded Glock magazines, but here are my conclusions: 1. The hopper is poorly designed. It allows rounds to jam against the feeding mechanism. It also can't hold an entire box of 50 rounds without overflowing. There is a small baffle to try and mitigate this jamming, but it is too small and too loose. Out of every handle pump, I would say about 50% of the time would a new round load into the ammo chute. 2. The ammo chute gate does not work. The handle stroke works in both directions: down pushes a bullet into the magazine and up is supposed to load the next round from the ammo chute. However, the "up" motion only works about 20% of the time. I believe that the internal mechanism (made of plastic) is too short to reliably open the ammo chute gate. All in all, this is a poorly designed product. I thought by purchasing the "PRO" version I would avoid some of the issues found in the all polymer version, but I didn't. After spending a couple of hours frustrated in loading magazines, I'm looking for another solution.

DOES NOT WORK
I got this for my girlfriend. The rounds will not load, one will get caught up in the bottom portion of the hopper and will ceases up IMMEDIATELY. Absolutely poor quality product. The magazine is loose and moves every time you pump it. If I had not bought this long ago while I was still deployed, I would ask for my money back. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT SAVE YOUR MONEY AND GET THE ETS CAM LOADER! I tried this multiple different times on a Glock 17 magazine and when it worked properly, only loaded 10 rounds. Brownells, you should cease the sale of these immediately.
