What is the NEXT LEVEL TRAINING - SIRT TRAINING PISTOL W/ RED SHOT LASER?

Training pistol with the look, feel and approximate weight of a Glock®17/22 provides enhanced dry-fire practice. The Shot Indicating Resetting Trigger (SIRT) system assists shooters in developing proper grip and trigger control without spending money on ammunition. Auto-resetting trigger activates two red lasers – one when pressure is applied to the trigger to serve as a take-up/trigger prep indicator (may be deactivated), while the other displays “shot” placement. Features standard sights and a functional magazine release that enables users to practice reloads using the included weighted training magazine.

SPECS: Molded polymer, black frame and red slide. 24.5 oz. (695g) wt. with magazine. Lasers are 5mW Max, 650nm wavelength, and are windage/elevation adjustable. Includes one training magazine, Allen wrenches, instructions, and training DVD. Uses one CR-123 battery, included.

Reviews Summary
The SIRT Performer Training Pistol is praised for its value as a training tool, effectively improving shooting skills and trigger control. However, several users are disappointed by the trigger reliability, particularly the loss of a defined break and issues with magazines. While many appreciate its utility, some wish for more realistic weight and improved sight features.
What Reviewers Are Saying
Training Effectiveness
70%
Many users highlight the SIRT Performer as an invaluable training tool. It helps enhance shooting skills, trigger control, and sight alignment. Instructors especially find it useful for teaching basic skills and working on movement, making it an essential part of their training regimen.
Trigger Quality
60%
A significant concern among reviewers is the trigger quality, with reports of a mushy feel and lack of a decisive break over time. Users expressed disappointment that the trigger reliability diminishes, which impacts training effectiveness, especially for advanced users.
Magazine Compatibility
50%
Reviewers mention issues with magazine compatibility, noting that Glock magazines can fit too snugly and require adjustments to function correctly. Some users faced challenges when using additional SIRT magazines, which should ideally work seamlessly.
Price and Value
40%
The pricing of the SIRT Performer is often considered reasonable given its functions as a Glock simulator, making it an attractive option for those seeking effective training tools. Many feel that its affordability adds significant value, particularly in comparison to other training options.
Realism and Weight
30%
A few users critique the pistol's weight, noting that it feels lighter than a real Glock. This difference can affect the realism during training exercises, especially for reloads and handling. Suggestions were made to enhance the weight distribution for a more authentic experience.
Customer Resources
50%
Several reviews commend the instructional videos that accompany the SIRT Performer, finding them useful for teaching and practice. These resources aid in maximizing the training potential of the pistol, showing the company’s commitment to supporting users.

Good training aid
I ordered the SIRT 110 from Brownells. Feels enough like a Glock 17 to be acceptable. You can swap mags it comes with one mag. Others are about $25 each and mags are weighted about the weight of a standard loaded G17 mag. I heard it will accept factory Glock mags but they can be tight. The trigger is adjustable and you can also zero the laser. I shoot carry optic in USPSA so I mounted an old Burris FastFire 3 and it is zerod to the laser and both are working fine. I am using this with the red laser (not IR adapter) with smokeless range 2.0 software- the pistol is good in this application. This is an effective tool to work on sight picture & trigger control. It is good to work on with movement as well. For the price point, its a really good solution as a training aid.

Excellent training tool
Ready to go right out of the box. Reasonable price for a Glock simulator with a reset trigger. Videos that come with it are VERY useful in teaching grip, trigger control and stance. Will use them in my classes.Works great with the OCAT System laser simulator target system. My only gripe is the weight is much less than a regular Glock. The weighted magazine is right on, but the slide area could use more weight.

A necessary training aid
I am a firearm instructor and own 6 SIRT pistols. I have owned 4 of these SIRT's for 11 years, and 2 for just over a year. One is a Pro model, and the other 5 are Performer models. Approximately 500 students per year use these pistols. After about 8 years some of the triggers lost their "break". You can mush the trigger to the rear with no wall or reset. The front sights have a tendency to fall out. I contacted NLT and they sent me a RMA to send in for warranty but I use these pistols multiple times per week for training so simply can't send them back (unless NLT sends me loaners or send me the parts so I can do the repairs myself). As an instructor these SIRT's are invaluable! I don't have enough characters to explain all the uses. As a shooter, I can say without a doubt that my own dry fire with these tools has significantly improved my shooting ability. If I can make one suggestion it would be to improve the front sight reliability and to put some kind of dot on the front sight. Black on Black sights are dumb.

Trigger no longer "breaks"
I bought a SIRT Performer about two years ago in preparation for the next season of matches. When I first got it, I measured the trigger pull at about 7 pounds, which I left alone thinking it would be like strength training. The triggers are adjustable. I'm now noticing that the trigger no longer has much of a "break" to it. It's more like 3/8" inches of mushy travel. If I pull very slowly, I can feel a little bit of a hitch in it. It's hard for me to measure the pull weight, because it's hard to know where to stop pulling, but I think it's a little under four and a half pounds. It is still somewhat useful for target transitions, but it is a disappointment that the trigger has let go. Not entirely related, but I bought a bunch of extra SIRT magazines. Glock magazines fit too snugly to drop free from the SIRT pistol. I bought 5 from Next Level Training, and 2 would not catch properly in the SIRT pistol, and another would come out with a moderate shake without touching the magazine catch. They can be fixed with a bit of epoxy and a file, but I don't think I should have to tune a magazine with no moving parts to get them to work properly. The magazines are about the same price as quality aftermarket Glock magazines, but only if you buy 3 at a time, single magazines are about the same price as Glock magazines for a plastic shell with steel weights. It's also a bit disappointing that the slide stop and slide do not move at all, which limits realistic reloading and malfunction clearance training.
