This is ideal for safe storage and for use at the range to clearly indicate that the rifle is empty and the bolt is out of battery. You can leave the bolt locked back or leave it partially forward against the block so it is visible. The ejection port cover can be closed with the block in place. Fit is good, and the block falls away cleanly like a magazine once the bolt is retracted and the magazine release is depressed. Highly recommended.

You can open your safe or walk into the Arms Room and immediately tell those AR-15/16 status. Very visible in safe or on wall rack and it does not mar the rifle or AR pistol in any way. To have it drop immediatley to the floor a quick tug on the charging handle will accomplish that and you can stick in a loaded magazine and be ready to go. For patrol officers you can carry your AR in the locking rack in your vehicle and know that is is clear. Recommend highly!
