A "MUST HAVE" FOR YOUR SECURE ROOM
When we had this door installed two years ago, the door frame itself "Completely Encapsulated" our THREE 2x4" wood frame. So (our door anyway) this door (via the steel frame) is secured by a 4x6" wooden frame that was both glued and nailed together. We were also able to reinforce the entire (front) 8 footwall that this vault-door was installed in, but it certainly isn't essential. Just a bonus (for us.) Then, this door-frame (itself) is bolted together on all 3 sides of the wooden frame! The door itself is very heavy but perfectly balanced, as our 2 y/o granddaughter can push it open (once the digital code releases the lockset) and the 3-prone handle is turned 6" (?) as the door bolts retract from the frame! The handle on the inside of the door allows for instant opening & closing. This is NOT a $20,000 36" thick bank-vault; but the door itself is reinforced, well constructed & I trust it to keep my wife and our 4 remaining children (at home) safe!
