What is the BROWNELLS - TORX Head Scope Ring Base 240 Piece Screw Kit?

A TORX head lets you set a screw down tight without the bit slipping and damaging the screw slot. They give your work a clean, finished appearance. We’ve included T-10 and T-15 TORX sizes for use in different applications. T-10 gives you plenty of additional wall thickness where the head joins the shank; T-15 has a large socket that accepts the same driver supplied with many popular brands of rings and bases. You get an economically priced assortment of 240 screws, all made right here in the USA. 1 dozen each of 20 different screws; 11 Fillister Head and 9 Weaver Oval Head styles in 3 thread sizes and 4 lengths, all in a sturdy, compartmented box. For those special jobs we have included a hardened steel, Checker/Shortener Jig that makes grinding screws to just the right length, fast and easy. The Weaver Ring/Burris Ring alt hd screws must have the head diameter reduced to fit the Burris rings.

SPECS: U.S.-made, quality screws, with the same head/shape specs as the Slotted Sight Base Screws. T-10, T-15 TORX socket. Blued. Kit includes: (1) T-10 and (1) T-15 TORX wrench, 240 screws, compartmented kit box, Tweezers, Checker/Shortener Jig and Application Chart showing bases/rings/ribs/etc., that the screws fit. Screw Lengths: ј": ј" (6.36mm), 3/8" (9.5mm), Ѕ" (12.7mm), 9/16" (14.28mm). Screw Sizes: 6-40, 6-48, 8-40 tpi.

Has All The Screws You Need - Almost
This kit has a great assortment of screws for scope/scope base mounting & I prefer torx screws over hex (Allen) head screws - less chance of stripping the head..The only screw I would add to the kit is a 6-48x1/2". Had to cut off a couple of 9/16" long screws to mount a scope base on a Howa receiver. The 3/8" screws were a tad short.

nice set
The package comes with a lot more screw types and box compartments than are pictured. Some of the screws are longer than I'd probably ever need, but it's a lot easier to shorten a screw than to lengthen it. The box has 36 compartments, and there are 20 bags of screws, so there's also room for the nifty little tools that come with the set, plus more screws. Very nice, typical Brownell's quality.

great screw set
I got this screw set a few years ago and used it to remount a scope after a local gun shop used the supplied screws that came with the base. The screws were way too short and were only holding on by a few threads. I bought this screw set and it was well worth the investment. It has just about every size and length you will ever need. It comes with tweezers and a screw plate for matching up screw threads. The plate is also great if you put it in a vise to file down longer screws for a custom length. I helped a few friends with their scope mounting issues and there was always a screw that matched. The Torx heads are far superior to the old Allen heads. The only thing I would add to this box is a tube of blue loctite screw adhesive.

Missing Sizes
The Torx Head Scope Ring and Base Screw kit did not come with all sizes stated on the organizer box diagram. It had some sizes that were not even on the diagram. The quality of the hardware seems good, but I’m disappointed in the discrepancies.
