Compact, Lighter-Recoiling, NFA-Exempt Self-Defense Shotgun
The 20 gauge edition of Mossberg's popular 590 Shockwave pump shotgun sports a 14" barrel and a unique "bird's head" pistol grip instead of a full buttstock, making it extremely compact and highly maneuverable - ideal for a home-defense shotgun. Chambered for the lighter-recoiling 20 gauge shell, this Shockwave is even easier to control than the original.
The Mossberg 590 Shockwave's short barrel and short overall length of only of 26-1/2" make it easy to operate in tight spaces, while still packing five 20 gauge rounds in the mag tube. The Raptor® bird’s head pistol grip and Cob-style forearm (with nylon strap keep your hand in place) give you excellent control and help reduce felt recoil.
- Accepts both standard 2-3/4" shells or 3" magnums
- Ambidextrous top-mounted safety is easy for any shooter to access
- Twin action bars for smooth pump operation
- Dual shell extractors & anti-jam elevator for reliable cycling
- Sling swivel stud on magazine cap
The 590 Shockwave 20 gauge is not subject to the National Firearms Act, so there’s no ATF paperwork to fill out or downtime waiting for a tax stamp. Built on a lightweight anodized aluminum receiver, the Mossberg 590 Shockwave 20 gauge still offers secure steel-to-steel lockup between the bolt and barrel for years of safe, reliable operation.
