A Refined, Hybrid CCW Pistol Perfect for Your Daily Carry Kit
If you're someone who prefers the feel of a 1911 over many of today's modern, polymer-framed semi-autos, then you don't have many CCW options that can keep up with other offerings in terms of size and capacity. Wilson Combat is addressing that with the introduction of its EDC X9S, a perfectly balanced hybrid pistol that combines all the elements you love about the 1911 with the capacity and ease-of-carry of a dedicated CCW pistol.
Each Wilson Combat EDC X9S features a similar look and feel to its big brother, but the company decided to make this pistol a true carry gun by shortening the barrel and grip frame. As a result, the X9S frame uses a 10-round magazine instead of the 15-round magazine in the original EDC X9. However, the slim profile of the aluminum frame means that non-railed versions of this pistol will easily fit holsters designed for short-barreled, single-stack 1911s.
- Barrel length: 3.25 inches
- Overall length: 6.54 inches
- Weight: 1.59 pounds
- Ships with two 11-round magazines
To ensure its suitability for CCW use, Wilson Combat enhanced its EDC X9S with the company's Enhanced Reliability System, which is tailored for use with varying kinds of 9mm ammunition, so no matter what your chosen defensive load is, the pistol will run it without a problem. Even if your gun is loaded with carbon fouling or short on lubrication, the company's ERS modification is designed to keep your pistol running, no matter the situation.
