Daily Defense 1-38: Vacation EDC
You have the right EDC gun, you've taken classes, practiced and trained. You've got your daily carry routine dialed in. But everybody needs a break.... What happens when you go on vacation? Can you take your EDC gun with you? The answer is, again, "It depends." You'll need to study the firearm / concealed carry laws of the place you want to visit. That state may have reciprocity with your state, and it recognizes your CCW permit. Or its firearm laws may be more restrictive. That state's laws on the use of deadly force may also differ from your home state's, so STUDY UP! If you CAN carry in your vacation spot, you may have to carry a different gun from your regular EDC gun due to weather or other conditions. If it's a place where you cannot carry a gun, at least carry your med kit and less-lethal options, such as OC / pepper spray and an improvised weapon. A small flashlight or even a pen can be an effective improvised impact weapon. Ideally, you want to have a firearm, but if you can't, that doesn't mean you have to be totally defenseless!
