Daily Defense 1-30: Carrying Extra Magazines
In our previous video, Jeff talked about carrying extra ammunition. If your daily carry / EDC gun is a semi-auto pistol, that means carrying spare magazines. The ammo capacity of the one mag in your gun may not be enough (remember the 10-round rule of thumb) in a self-defense situation. If your shooting skills are still in development, you may find yourself in a situation where those skills are taxed and you need more shots. Or you may have to deal with multiple threats at once. You want to be sure you have enough ammunition to sufficiently neutralize all threats. Your clothing may determine IF and how many spare magazines you carry. Most folks should be able to carry at least one spare mag in a front or back pants pocket. Jeff likes a handy magnetic holder that helps keep the magazine from shifting around in the pocket. Think through your EDC needs and determine if and where you can carry a spare magazine. THEN practice accessing that mag from that location.
