SMITH & WESSON - M&P 15-22 Magazine .22LR 25Rd FDE

Bought two flat dark Earth. They're exactly the same as the original black one that came with the gun. I have mixed feelings about the open side. On one hand it lets you see how much ammo is in the magazine but on the other hand it also lets debris in. They could have just made it a clear window but I suppose that would make them more expensive as well. Plus they have an ammunition load assist lever in that window that pulls down on the spring tension while loading. One of the nice things about the m&p 15-22 is that the bolt locks open when your magazine is empty and that is because of a special lever mechanism in these magazines so keep in mind if you buy another manufacturer's magazine it may not include that and hence will operate differently. I've put hundreds and hundreds of rounds of several different types of ammunition through all three of my magazines and yes you do have an occasional failure to feed but we're talking .22 ammunition here.

I ordered 3 of these for my 15-22 and they are great quality. Fit and Finish is great. Had a few FTF but that could have been the ammo. After about 300 rounds I can say these are good mags for plinking.

Ive had 4 of these and between the magazines splitting open or the feed lips wearing out where the rim of the cartridge pressed up against it they have all failed. The FDE ones seem like a softer plastic compared to the black ones. Id go with ones that have metal feed lips like the 2A Armament AR-15 .22 Mags if possible.
