Disappointed
Wrench metal is too wide to remove AR15 flash hider. Does not grab the flats due to the rounded parts of the flash hider hanging up on the wrench.
Quality is lacking
In its first use,while using in addition to a torque wrench installing a barrel the prongs broke off around 20 ft/pounds of force. Slightly warped so tightening the castle nut was difficult with only two prongs.
Does Not Fit My AR
I just wrote this review on another item that I thought was the one I bought, but it was not. When I bought it I was doing a buile with a BCA upper and I had a Milspec (I thought?) collapsable stock for it, and I would need to tighten it down to the receiver and this wrench wont fit around the tube. At forst I thought well maybe one of my friends can use this wrench? But it hasnt fit on anyones I know so it's been just sitting gathering dust new in the package. $50 bucks down the tube, wont work.
I sure wish you guys had one that would work. I still need one. This one is well made. It just dont work!
Doesnt Fit My AR
It's a well made wrench but it wont go around the tube to tighten down the stock onto my Ar. What do I do now? That was was %50 bucks and would have been worth it if it worked with my build.
Nothing was weird about my parts. I had a mil spec collapsable stock that screwed right onto the receiver...but I cant tighten it down! I suppose that...I have chosen poorly.
AR15 Wrench, wrong choice
This did not any of my more modern type AR15 barrel nuts or castle nuts. I have returned to Brownell's and will purchase a more modern wrench. Thank you Brownell's for your great customer service on someone that didn't read the description correctly.
Doesn't Work Like Other Wrench
You have to remove your butt stock to use this on your castle nut. I've never had one like this. Too much trouble using this wrench
BIG MISS by Brownells
I bought this wrench to tighten the castle nut on a Mil-std M4 buffer tube.? This isnt rocket science folks and brown ells of all people should be able to figure this out. OK, so theres no way the slot is late enough to clear the major diameter of the tube. I get that they were trying to pickup all 4 lugs with the wrench and it would if it would fit over the tube.???
Extremely disappointed
Extremely disappointed with this armorers wrench. If I could rate this wrench with a negative number of starts I would. I made the assumption that having the name Brownells behind this tool it was a good thing. It is not. This wrench DOES NOT, repeat, DOES NOT fit the castle nut of the following rifles/carbines I own: Daniel Defense, Noveske, Knight Armament, Bravo Company Manufacturer (BCM) not even fit Smith & Wesson M&P AR 15 Tactical (not the entry level, sport version) and for what I read in other reviews, it does not fit the castle nut of AeroPrecision either. So I returned it immediately. The returning process is still an ongoing thing at the time of writing this review. I hope the returning process is better than their Ar Armorers wrench.
Will not fit standard size buffer tubes
The configuration doesnt let this wrench access the castle but on a standard AR-15/M4 buffer tube. For the same reason (on the other end) it wouldnt work for the barrel nut on my AR either. Im befuddled but the design flaw and cant understand why Brownell's hasnt fixed this yet. The only thing its really good for is muzzle devices.
Too small for buffer tube
Bought this to work on my Ar's. Unfortunately, I basically purchased a expensive paperweight. The wrench WILL NOT fit around my buffer tube so I cannot remove/change stock or pistol brace. Because of sloppy specs, im afraid to use it on anything else on the rifle.
