Master of new products Paul Levy is thrilled to introduce us to THRiL, a new brand in the Brownells lineup. THRiL, whose name stands for "Tactical, Hunting, Recreation, Loyalty," has minimalist yet "feature rich" AR-15 carbine buttstock with a functional but non-intrusive cheek rest, QD sling swivel sockets at the front AND rear, a handy non-slip recoil pad, and a low-profile release lever. THRiL's AR-15 pistol grip sits at a more vertical angle than the A2, which many tactical and competition shooters now prefer, and it has "aggressive" full-coverage texturing similar to Smith & Wesson M&P M2.0 pistols. The THRiL 30-round AR-15 magazine has a slightly rubberized base plate for those times you steady the rifle on the mag to take a shot. The Brownells BRN-Proto stripped AR-15 barrel is made for us by Ballistic Advantage and is 20" long, with 1-12" rifling ideal for lighter 40- to 55-grain bullets, and a shorter gas block journal that's tailor-made for a low-profile gas block. Plus, a chrome-lined bore, standard 1/2"-28 tpi muzzle threads, and a durable Phosphate finish. Finally, Paul has some neat items from Grey Ghost Gear, the accessories division of Grey Ghost Precision. Their Triple Magazine Panel holds three 30-round AR-15 mags and attaches easily to your MOLLE rig, while the capacious Roll-Up Dump Pouch is also conveniently MOLLE compatible.
WARNING: Never attempt to disassemble or reassemble a firearm unless you are absolutely certain that it is empty and unloaded. Visually inspect the chamber, the magazine and firing mechanism to be absolutely certain that no ammunition remains in the firearm. Disassembly and reassembly should follow the manufacturer’s instructions.
