Product Spotlight: MultiTasker M:4 Multi-Tool

Author Caleb Savant
It's like an armorer's tool kit that fits under the recoil pad of your AR-15's stock. OK not quite, but the MultiTasker M:4 Tool was designed to fit inside the buttpad on B5 Systems SOPMOD, Enhanced SOPMOD, and Bravo AR-15 stocks. Brownells Gun Tech™ Caleb Savant gives us the skinny on what we can achieve with this tiny tool in our hands.

The tool is called the "M:4" because it has FOUR basic functions: (1) Slot-tip screwdriver for turning adjustment screws on optics, wrangling slot-head optic mount screws, or any task that requires a 3/8" flat-tip screwdriver. (2) Castle nut wrench - very handy if you ignored Caleb's recommendation and didn't stake your castle nut. It WILL eventually work loose and you'll have to tighten it down. (3) A 1/2" hex nut wrench for the big hex nuts commonly found on optic mounts. (4) Bolt override malfunction clearance tool for sorting out a brass-over-bolt jam.

If you're carrying it in your B5 stock, you do have to remove the buttpad to access the M:4, so it isn't the easiest tool to get into play in a hurry. The good news you're never going to leave it at home because it's always on your rifle. And you don't have to carry your MultiTasker M:4 multi-tool in a B5 Systems stock. It's so small there are at least a million ways you can stow it in your gear and carry it with you wherever you go.

Although small, the sturdy M:4 is wire-EDM machined from 420 stainless steel barstock, with a tough, abrasion-resistant Melonite® finish.
