FAQ

In gunsmithing, what is a witness mark?
This is a mark that is placed on two parts which are joined together to ensure that if they are disassembled and then reassembled, they can be positioned in the same location. These marks are often found as lines on receivers and barrels. When the barrel is screwed into the receiver, the witness marks should line up.
