Brownells Position Description
Essential Functions
Strategic
- Provides and sets strategic direction for planning, designing, implementing and
maintaining Brownells’ technology infrastructure to drive and support the vision.
- Orchestrates strategic architecture and
integration for all Brownells IT, Web, and Telecommunications systems.
- Participates in regular industry networking opportunities
to increase awareness and understanding of current and future
technological challenges and opportunities.
Operational
- Reviews and evaluates project feasibility studies
based on management requirements and priorities, and implements the installation
and operation of system and equipment.
- Directs and coordinates information systems
planning and functioning including all phases of systems design,
programming, installation and operations.
- Works with internal departments to identify
opportunities to improve and refine services to meet their needs.
- Oversees investigation and selection of IT
systems.
- Responsible for
ensuring detailed and accurate documentation of all IT/Telecommunications
information and procedures.
Security
- Sets IT security policy for Brownells group of
companies consistent with business objectives and requirements.
- Oversees implementation and operation of the
security program.
- Overall responsibility for security compliance as
it relates to changes in legislation.
- Develops and implements disaster recovery
programs.
Telecommunications
- Develops plans to ensure Brownells’ long term
telecommunications needs are identified and met.
- Plans and designs Brownells’ voice and data
communications networks.
- Oversees implementation and operation of
telecommunication processes.
- Works
with Telecommunications staff to identify and mitigate information risks.
Leadership
- Provides professional IT leadership and
effectively communicates relevant IT information
and strategies to the organization
and shareholders.
- Creates and implements succession planning.
- Leads major
systemic changes to the IT and Telecommunications systems.
- Champions change and
effectively manages the
implementation of new ideas.
- Responsible for
professional development of the IT department.

Requirements:
|
Brownells Position Description
- 4 year degree in Information
Systems, Computer Engineering, or
related discipline
- Experience aligning department objectives to
company objectives
- Experience at an advanced level in systems
architecture as well as relevant existing software and telecommunications
systems
- Demonstrated leadership experience including
change leadership
- Excellent Project Management skills
