It's been a long, tough winter for all of us this time around. Drought in the West, blizzards from the Dakotas to the entire East coast, snow and ice in the deep South.
As a lot of you in our industry know, January is "Convention Month". This year we covered the Dallas Safari Club show, which included the American Custom Gunmakers Guild (ACGG), then the SHOT Show, the Antique Arms Show (AAS), FirearmEngravers Guild of America (FEGA), and the knife section of the AAS.
Christmas came and went by in a huge rush this year, and now the New Year is just days away! I hope you're having a truly wonderful Holiday Season - and that you're spending at least part of it with those people most important to you.
We all know what's coming... We've already had a taste of Winter here in Central Iowa - Snow! The good news is the holidays are just around the corner.
We got snow in northern Iowa this week – and I bought a new Farmer's Almanac. Kinda afraid what is in the forecast for the winter. I know winter's coming – and some of you had a major blizzard already if you're in North Dakota.
It's officially fall! I truly hope you're able to get out in pursuit of your favorite game - or have solid plans to do so in the coming weeks.
As I write this, a goodly number of us are ramping up for the Labor Day weekend, the "unofficial" end of summer.
It's hard to believe July has almost passed us by! Now is the time to get the most out of our warm-weather range time and pull triggers rather than sit in front of the computer.
Some good news . . . Many of the parts and pieces that have been so scarce are coming back in stock. After months of being buried under backorders, manufacturers are starting to catch up with the amazing demand. It’s kinda exciting to see what’s on the next truckload.
OK – I’ve got A Great Big Announcement to make (cue the drum roll . . .):
BROWNELLS 20- AND 30-ROUND AR-15/M16 MAGAZINES
ARE NOW IN STOCK!!
I'd like to start off talking about the Gunsmith Conference & Career Fair . . . it just gets better and better every year! I know, I'm sounding like a broken record - but it's true! When we started seven years ago, we held it at our Montezuma, Iowa, headquarters and had a handful of very enthusiastic folks show up.
I love that old whiz this time of year – "The spring is sprung, The grass is rize, I wonder where the birdies is" – 'cause Spring just sprung, and around here along with the birdies, we got about 6 inches of heavy snow.
