What's not to like about this pipe! 16" M4 profile, 4150 steel, chrome-lined, M4 feedramps, & nice matte finish that accepts coatings well. It's a great pipe to cut down to 14.5" or 14.7" for a more appropriate gas system configuration-then permanently attach a muzzle device for a 16" overall length. You can't beat it for the price. Other companies sell their pipes made from 4140 w/chrome lining for $100 more, without all the features. For a carry/duty carbine, the Gov't profile under the handguards is the way to go. After checking DD's website, I'm quite sure this is a button-rifled pipe, not cut-rifled. I'll update once we reach a higher round count with first and last group accuracy results.

I have heard nothing but good things about Daniel Defense. I ordered this barrel as a exact replacement for the one on my AR all specs match. The barrel appears to be of quality... except the finish. When I pulled the barrel out of its tube I immediately noticed the finish... someone went crazy with the bead blaster. The finish is uniform but overly texturized to the point that it sparkles! No amount of oil will take this off, the texture even catches pieces of the rag I used to clean it.

For that reason I can only give it 3 stars it may still be a great barrel but this alone was enough to make me question the rest of the barrel.

I have several M4 conture barrels and this one
seems to top them all. Chrome lined, 1-7 twist and
cut riflings. Fast twist will easy handle large
bullets with high BC's. Finish is good, accuracy is good and most importantly low cost. DD has a winner
here for sure.

I have 2 of these great barrels. You can not get a better high quality barrel anywhere near this price! 4150 CMV, M4 ramps, 1 in 7 twist, MPI tested and chrome lined to boot. These rae the same brrels that Daniels Defense built their famous M4 rifles around when they first introduced them.
