All rimfires have preferences in the type of ammunition they will work with. These are test fired with Federal "Gold" ammo and I have used them with a number of other brands and they function well. Remington .22 LR bullets tend to have a more pronounced driving band and can be finicky but work in some of the units I've tried. If you stick with Federal ammo there shouldn't be any problems with function.
