I was initially concerned that the beefier polymer material would present some COAL limitations. When using this mag in a precision SPR, it has functioned extremely well, and has been very friendly to loading the Lapua 77gr Scenars out to 2.254" COAL(57.24mm), with no issues of case-taper stack/max COAL hang-ups, even in 5 degree Fahrenheit (-15C) weather. Reliability has been 100%. It has been fun using this mag while dropping E-type/Janter pop-up targets out to 800m off an artillery observation tower while swaying in the wind & rain. When using exposed hands to handle the mag, it is more comfortable than touching a metal mag in these temps.

Another cool feature for hunting applications is that this magazine can be modified quite easily with a block & spring cut, since it has an inner floor plate that holds the spring in place, & can be re-configured to normal capacity again by removing the block & replacing the spring with a standard one. It is also easier to manipulate & handle, in comparison to the tiny 5-round mags.

You will want to use gloves when removing the storage cap/feed lips protector when in cold weather, as it is very secure when in place. Magpul delivers another excellent product with unexpected pros for the practical shooter, hand-loader, soldier, & hunter.

The PMags are excellent. I have used both the 20 and 30 rounders and they feed perfect every time. Also you can seat a fully loaded PMag with the bolt locked into battery, something you have a very hard time doing with other mags.
