Receivers built to mil-spec dimensions are coated with FailZero’s ultra-durable, nickel-boron EXO finish. EXO treatment produces an exceptionally hard surface that’s 40% more wear resistant than chrome plating and has an ultra-low friction coefficient. The surface is actually harder than the substrate underneath and will not peel, flake, gall, or rub off. It’s also self-lubricating, so there’s no need to apply additional lubricant that attracts dirt, dust, unburned powder, and carbon that lead to cycling failures. Reduced friction also means less heat from metal-on-metal contact, so the gun runs cooler and parts last longer. Easy to clean, too, because fouling brushes right off. Receivers are precision machined to USGI tolerances from forgings of 7075 aluminum, prized for its exceptional combination of strength, hardness, and light weight. A4-type flattop uppers feature M4 feed cuts, and alphanumeric position “T-marks” engraved in the MIL-STD 1913 Picatinny rail slots. Available as a plain, Stripped upper ready for your choice of internal components and barrel, or a complete Extreme Duty kit that comes with EXO coated hammer, charging handle, bolt carrier, and complete bolt assembly. Bolt and carrier parts are shot peened for surface uniformity and magnetic particle inspected before EXO treatment to ensure there are no hidden flaws.
