Lightweight, one-piece bases with integral Picatinny or Davidson rails fit Savage short action rifles and are designed for competition. Standard model is intended for ranges from 50 to 300 yards, while the 20 MOA model provides an additional 20 minutes-of-angle in elevation for hitting targets beyond 400 yards. Precision machined from 7075 T6 aluminum for strength and durability. Length and width tolerances vary less than .002" to help center the scope to the bore and minimize initial adjustments. Four, steel Allen head screws secure the base to the receiver and provide exceptional holding power. Mounting holes are purposely counterbored to prevent the extra-long screws from extending into the barrel threads or dragging over the top of the locking lugs when operating the bolt. Fits Savage round top, short action receivers using factory pre-drilled scope base holes. MIL-STD 1913 Picatinny base accepts all the popular inverted dovetail, Picatinny and Weaver-style rings. Fourteen cross-slots for easy ring spacing adjustments to accommodate different-length scope tubes. Davidson base is designed for precision, ½" x 60° dovetail rings commonly used for benchrest competition. Machined 30° chamfer on the front and back of the base lets the rings slide on without binding or misalignment. Dovetail is machined to tolerances of +/- .001" to help ensure precise ring-to-ring alignment. Full-length dovetail allows ring spacing adjustments to fit a variety of different scope tube lengths.
