Building a Butt Stock Elevation Adjuster

Some time ago while I was building a rimfire tactical gun, I wanted a reliable and simple way to make very small muzzle angle changes while in the shooting position and have those changes stay as I set them while using a tripod. Then it came to me. I made and installed a simple butt stock elevation adjuster.
I removed the stock and put it under my drill press. I then drilled a 5/16" hole 2" deep and put a 1/2" long 1/4 x 24 threads nut in the hole (flush) with liquid steel 2 part adhesive. I then used a carraige bolt about 2" long with a large diameter washer sandwiched between two nuts and that was my index finger and thumb adjustment piece.
I cold blue dipped the screw and washer with sandwich nuts after lightly sand blasting to give a matte finish. Since my stock was painted in Brownell's ALUMA-HYDE® II, I painted over the nut I installed and it looked like I bought the gun with it installed. At the range, it was a very nice addition, I don't know how I went this long without it. Repeatable elevation shot after shot and a great conversation starter...
