Brownells Sponsors Ladies Luncheon And Auction At NRA Annual Meeting In Houston
Auction raises more than $10,000 for NRA Foundation programs
Brownells, the world’s leading supplier of factory gun parts, gunsmithing tools and accessories, was a primary sponsor of the Ladies Luncheon and Auction at the 2005 NRA Annual Meeting in Houston. Held April 15 in the George R. Brown Convention Center, the event raised more than $10,000 as part of the Friends of the NRA grassroots fundraising program.
“We are proud to serve as a sponsor for this event,” said Frank Brownell, company president, “not only because it recognizes the important role women play in the shooting sports, but because it includes a major fund-raising auction to help support activities of The NRA Foundation for preserving Second Amendment rights and providing gun safety and shooting education programs.”
The Brownells-sponsored event opened at 11 a.m. with a luncheon and auction preview, followed by the live auction from 1-3 p.m. The auction featured approximately 100 items including firearms, gear and accessories, gunsmithing services, hunting trips, jewelry, an assortment of fine wines and other unique offerings.
Steve Andersen , Executive Director of The NRA Foundation, said the Ladies Luncheon and Auction is one of three major fund-raising events held during Friday’s session of the annual meeting. “We greatly appreciate Brownells’ willingness to serve as a sponsor,” he said. “They have long been a staunch supporter of the NRA’s work and mission. Their cooperation is typical of NRA member support for events such as this which are part of our Friends of the NRA grassroots fund-raising program. Since 1992, this has enabled us to raise more than $70 million to help preserve our firearms heritage for future generations.”
