Brownells Gunsmith KinksĀ® - August 2008
-- R. Coles / M.O.A. Gunsmithing
I have a bolt stop mod I thought up this past winter for an M98/M96 Mauser. With the square look of the bolt stop, I wanted to remove the blocky look so after playing around on the Bridgeport this idea was born.
Nothing special just a carbide 1/4" diameter ball end mill. Chuck that
in the Bridgeport and index for squareness. You only need a 1/8" width
(in from the edge) cut all the way around, how deep you make the cut
is up to you. On the raised tab just eye ball that cut to look good.
have fun and experiment.
Attached are the pictures of my bolt stop mod on an action.
