The beginning of hunting season is here - finally!!! Actually started in many places, depending on the game. My son Pete's already in southern New Mexico on a black powder white tail hunt. Packing in on horseback and all that - would expect he'll come home with some blisters on his behind where he's never had any before.

It's hard to believe that fall is just around the corner. Heck, I just got back from eradicating some Prairie Dogs and already the kids are back in school, the Iowa State Fair is over, and the high school and college football games are getting started.

I'm really wound up this time!! Catalog #60 is off the press and will be getting palletized for delivery right to the various Postal Sectional Centers around the country for drop into the local mail on August 1st. It should be in your hands within just a few days after August 1st.

Hooray!! 4th of July Week - and all the family fun and fireworks. Lordy, love this time of year, despite 90-degree temperatures in Iowa and 98% humidity. Great for corn; tough on us humans. But, it does mean that Summer is here with all kinds of shooting activities around the country...high power matches, IPSC-style matches, Camp Perry, three gun shoots, trap, clays and backyard plinking.

We had a great time at the NRA Annual Meeting and Convention in St. Louis a couple of weeks ago...the turnout was truly amazing with lots of folks to talk to and lots of great guns and gear to check out. One of the reports I got was more than 60,000 people attended, making it the largest non-religious convention St. Louis has ever had

Man-Oh-Man...did we have a SHOT Show in Orlando this year!! Pete and I just got back along with a big group of our Gang who did a bang up job manning our Main booth and our Mil/LE booth at the show. I must say, I'm awfully pleased how big the show was, how many folks came by to visit, how many new products we saw or heard about.
